So, what odd reason will prevent me from seeing them THIS time?

You mean you missed them at the Warehouse (almost a decade ago, was it?). For shame! Even I went to that, and I don't like them. Strangely entertaining show though.

Oh no, I was at that show, but that was a Ka-Spel solo show, as it was just him, the Silverman, and their lady theremin player.

Didn't they just play at the Triple Rock 2 years ago?

I believe they played the Triple Rock three years ago, and it was excellent! I've also seen them before in the Entry (in the 90's) and in the main room. I think they also played the Varsity once, but that may have occurred entirely in my mind.

Why is this post at the top of the forum? And it should have an X next to the show title by now, eh?

I actually made it to the show (I was the guy in glasses against the far wall, near the left of the stage, in the leather jacket). Strangely, the first time I'd ever been in the 7th St Entry, despite having been to First Ave many times. The opener was decent, and the Pink Dots put on an excellent show. A good combination of both new and old (I finally got to hear "Casting the Runes" [what got me into LPD in the first place] live). Afterwards, I was able to give Edward some issues of my comic and he was, with me and all others, incredibly patient and gracious. Also had a chance to chat with the Silverman about synths (I've never seen a man more tolerant of countless geek questions from us). Very glad I was able to make it.

I agree, The Legendary Pink Dots put on a hell of a show. Definitely one of the best times I saw them. I was the one wearing an ancient Ministry t-shirt sitting on a stool near the merch booth. Still a lot of creative energy in LPD. It must be difficult to pick a set list with the dozens of albums worth of material to choose from. The opening band was very interesting. I liked it and got a CD. I talked to Edward for a moment. He agreed that, even though it's nice to attract a large enough crowd to merit renting the main room, it's more enjoyable to play an intimate space like the Entry. Sing while you may!

Because it's the thread with the most-recently-added message in it.

Geez, we don't ALL have smart phones. I was out of town and offline all weekend, and the X's don't get appended until I append them. :-?
