Has anyone else here been out to visit this gorgeous monstrosity?

It's a half hour west of Madison.

Oh god no.. I can already see the silly "steampunks" in their Wild Wild West costumes, posing in front of these things.

well the crazy person who built that whole park for the last twenty five years might feel slightly gratified It's even got some local history in it. much more educational and enjoyable than gluing wooden cogs to your underpants.

It would make a great band photo
Much better than looking tough in front of a brick wall or down on the railroad tracks

One of the other large-scale installations in the park is a Bird Orchestra, with hundreds of metal sculpture birds some of which are functioning instruments. One sousaphone bird I saw had a nest in its head that had two baby birds in it. (real ones.)
