Post Obamacare + Minimum Wage Hike
The argument for minimum wage hikes is often that more money will be moved into the economy by workers with increased earnings. That mistakenly assumes said money had no home or purpose in the economy prior to the hikes.

Obamacare, among its many failings, doesn't reduce the cost of care (as promised), doesn't offer $2500 in savings (promised, too), and won't be revenue neutral (another promise). As it moves forward, this program will raise taxes to fund its shortcomings, removing more money from the economy that already had a destiny.

Since both of these things will hit employers hard, employment will take a hit as well, dumping more people into the public safety nets, removing still move previously targeted funds out of the economy.

In Minnesota, the broken MNSure program will need years of repair. The funds for those fixes were available to us in the form of a surplus, born of our over-taxed situation. Is that magic "extra" money slated for a MNSure fix? No. It will buy a multi-million dollar Senate office building, conference centers in Rochester and Mankato, and other nice-to-haves. Gov. Dayton is hiding the numbers behind MNSure until after the next election. When those figures and shortcomings come to light, taxes will need to be raised to prop up the program. That will be money removed from the economy, too.

See a trend, here? Think your dollar will buy as much down the line as it did last year?

Why is any of this shooting ourselves in the foot a good idea? To help sick folk? To help underpaid workers? Are you serious?

%100 correct but Preaching to to the choir now vein.

Those that backed the Obamaturd can't defend the foolish disaster they created, they can't even defend it inside the safe petri hipster dish. The US has become a joke in the world, our economy still sucks, the country has become even more racist because the president is incompetent & plays the race card all of the time.

I suggest a thread about legalizing pot? :P

Incorrect. A lot of people make the same assumption, but there is actually ZERO data to support that. I'm not trying to make you look stupid or anything, but that's the risk you take when you are outspoken on subjects in which you are ignorant. The lesson here is to make statements when you know what you're talking about, and ask questions when you don't. It will help you to avoid looking foolish.

Gobs of data, and I will happily be the fool that said: "I told ya so nyaaa nyaaa!",

Meanwhile we are getting another glimpse of socialized HC w/ the Veterans Hospital scandal. Thx Obama!
